Funky
soul group JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound is coming to the Brooklyn
Bowl Friday, August 17. JC Brooks has been noted by the New York
Times as “Neo-soul Glory”, and the Chicago Tribune claimed that “The Uptown
Sound is the real deal.”
Taking
the stage with raw emotion and uncontainable energy, the Uptown Sound
labeled themselves as Post-Punk soul and that they are. Added with a touch of
R&B, this band creates a “lively set of gritty old-school soul and funk
injected with raw garage-rock aggression”, as said by KEXP.
Accompanying
JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound will be The Revelations Ft. Tre
Williams, Mingo Fishtrap, DJ Jack Dutone (Brooklyn Soul Club).
