2nd Annual Summer Jazzfest with Rebirth Brass Band

Nolafunk.com is excited to present the 2nd annual Nolafunk.com Summer Jazzfest, featuring Rebirth Brass Band with Brother Joscephus & The Love Revival Revolution Orchestra and Andrew Watt & the Dirty Touch. The July 13th event will take place at Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club at Pier Garden (formally known as South Street Seaport’s Water Taxi Beach).

Formed in 1983 by the infamous Frazier brothers, Rebirth Brass Band has upheld the tradition of brass bands for almost three decades, while ushering in a new generation of fans with their unique melding of funk, hip-hop, r&b and reggae. After 28 years they are the undisputed kings of New Orleans brass bands and a regular fixture on HBO’s Treme.

Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution Orchestra is a 12-piece explosion of upbeat gospel righteousness that blends funky New Orleans party music, old-fashioned soul, and a fair share of rock and roll. The high energy that radiates from the band is instantly contagious and has quickly gained the band notoriety as a must see live show.

Beekman Beer Garden is a new outdoor establishment located on the north side of the alley along Pier 17 in Manhattan. The venue features a spectacular view of the Brooklyn Bridge and East River, a huge selection of craft beers, a menu of beer garden favorites, pool tables, a life-size chessboard, and a beach area with chaises, hammocks, and "glowing" lounge chairs.
